  3. RBBS-PC Systems prior to CPC12-5A require 1 TO 3 C/R'S before
  4.        they will respond 1 C/R if you are coming in at 300 BAUD
  5.        2 or 3 C/R's if you are coming in at 1200 BAUD.  1 is
  6.        used by RBBS-PC to detect 1200 baud the second is used
  7.        to detect parity and the last to detect number of
  8.        data bits. The number of C/R's will vary if you are
  9.        coming into the system at the pre-established parity
  10.        and data bit configuration.
  11. RBBS-PC Systems starting with CPC12-5A do not require any C/R's
  12.        to activate them.  Just be patient and RBBS-PC will
  13.        auto connect with you.
  14. HOSTCOMMs will respond with a connect message after switching
  15.        baud rate to match your system; they do not detect and
  16.        switch parity to match your system.
  17. RINGBACK means you call the number and let the telephone ring
  18.        only ONCE. You then WAIT at least 10 seconds.....and 
  19.        re-dial the number within the next 50 seconds, and the
  20.        bulletin board's modem will answer on the first ring. If
  21.        you let the phone ring more than once the first time,
  22.        or twice the second time (especially at 3AM !)......
  23.        you will get a very annoyed SYSOP on the phone talking
  24.        to your modem!
